Block Party
March 24, 2026
I started Block Party because I couldn't accept that simply being online meant surrendering control – over your safety, your privacy, your data. The internet is too important to opt out of, but it shouldn’t be the danger zone that it is by default.
Today, I'm sharing news that marks a new chapter in that journey: Block Party has been acquired by DeleteMe, the leading platform for personal data removal and proactive privacy protection.
In a prior life, I was briefly and mildly Internet famous for my activism and advocacy work. The subsequent intrusions on my life and physical safety became a shocking revelation in how exposed I was, and I found myself scrambling to lock everything down.
Friends who’d been through this before pointed me to DeleteMe to scrub my personal information from data brokers and people search sites. But there was nothing to clean up the other half of my exposure: the social and other online accounts I’d set up years ago and never properly secured. That, I had to do myself, and that became Block Party.
DeleteMe has spent years solving data broker exposure. Block Party solves social. We’ve always been complementary, and now it’s official.
Until now, enterprise customers and consumers alike have had to go to different companies to cobble together separate solutions. This acquisition brings both our products under the same roof, and gives everyone who’s been asking for it somewhere to go.
We could have built toward this on our own, but threats don’t wait. DeleteMe has the reach and infrastructure to get these protections to more people, faster. That’s why we’re joining DeleteMe: to achieve our mission at the scale it deserves.
If you're a current Block Party user: Thank you. Your trust and feedback is what made this possible. Block Party will continue to operate as a product through this transition, and we'll share more about the integrated experience as plans develop.
If you're new here: You can sign up and get access to the latest version of the browser extension at blockpartyapp.com.
If you're an organization looking to protect your people from social engineering and data exposure, you can reach out to the DeleteMe team to learn more about enterprise options.
Building Block Party has been one of the hardest and most rewarding things I've done. The internet is not yet the safe, equitable, empowering place it could be — but I've never stopped believing it can get there.
I used to be more open about my life online. Many of us were. But for too many people, that openness has come at a real cost. We don't have to choose between having a voice and being safe. That was always the point.
The mission continues. It just got a lot more powerful.
