Introducing the new Block Party

We’re excited to announce that our browser extension Privacy Party has officially rebranded to Block Party! With our company always being called Block Party, it made sense to return to our roots. This latest release marks a new chapter in furthering our mission to make the internet safer for everyone.

What’s the deal?

Previously, Block Party (now referred to as "Block Party Classic") was a web application that offered a suite of tools that made using Twitter better. We helped Twitter users get the most out of their experience with features like blocking, auto-muting, configurable filters and more. Our users loved it – Block Party Classic became a trusted tool for those facing online harassment and noise, allowing them to reclaim their online space and engage on their own terms. However, with changes to Twitter's API in May of 2023, Block Party Classic unfortunately became obsolete, but the silver lining: Privacy Party was born.

We shifted our focus towards bringing the same mission to more people, in even more digital spaces. But, as the functionality of the Privacy Party extension grew, we realized “privacy” no longer captured the breadth of our offering. Block Party, on the other hand, spoke to the root of our brand identity and our larger goal of helping you block out the noise (whether that be trolls, unwanted content, or shady settings) and get the most out of being online.

Rest assured, everything you loved about Privacy Party is still here, only now, with even more tools to help you deep clean your social media.

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves

Since the introduction of our browser extension, we've expanded its reach to cover 9 platforms (with more to come!), allowing you to secure your online presence across all your digital spaces. Current platforms include X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, Venmo, Google, YouTube and Strava.

While the product name has changed, our core mission remains the same. Our new cleanup tools and automations go beyond just settings; now, we help you manage the content you’ve shared and the connections you’ve built over the years.

From expanded tools to our updated, user-first interface, we’ve built every aspect of our platform with you in mind. This transformation is designed to make managing your online presence easier and more effective than ever.

What’s new?

We’ve redesigned the Block Party experience to make it easier to find the tools and features you need. Whether you’re looking to declutter old content or boost the security of your accounts, our sidebar now houses both our checklist and tools to fix your settings, clean up your content, and enhance your experience on each platform.

Checklist

Each social platform (of the nine we currently serve) comes with a checklist of essential recommendations to keep your account secure and private.

After running a scan on each account, we’ll flag any risks and provide a list of what needs attention. Keeping up with social media settings can be overwhelming, but we’ve made it easier with automations that allow you to adjust your settings in a single click.

Platform settings are ever evolving, with new options being introduced regularly – many times auto-opting you into things you’d likely want to avoid. We stay on top of these changes for you, continuously updating your recommendations and notifying you when needed so you never have to worry.

Content cleanup

Our content cleanup tools allow you to batch-delete or hide old posts and photos with ease. Whether you need to clean up embarrassing old content or simply want a fresh start, Block Party lets you handle it all in a fraction of the time it would take to do manually.

Experience cleanup

Who you engage with on social media can make or break your online experience. Our experience cleanup tools help you curate your online social circle by allowing you to bulk unfriend people, mass block unwanted accounts, and reduce noise so you can focus on the people and connections that truly matter.

Let’s get to cleaning…

With the latest release, Block Party makes deep cleaning your social media easier than ever. We’re excited for you to explore the refreshed experience and look forward to helping you make the most of your online world.
